I updated my kernel yesterday. from 2.6.31-17 to 2.6.31-19

So, for today, I am hoping for a fresh start because I think I have messed up my old kernel pretty bad already.

Anyway, we are still making things to work with MythTV. Our MythTV-Backend seems to be accidentally uninstalled by the way. Am not sure whether it's because of the kernel updates.

Status: waiting for the answer from the mythtv mailinglist guys.

Firstly, So you are on 64-bit. I wouldn't dare (to waste my time) trying on 64-bit unless I can make it work on 32-bit first, especially when messing up with kernel/drivers.
Second, Please read the documentation that came with driver. I can see few playing examples there and I wish you can share how they work here.
Lastly, I had a lot of discussion with Mythtv+ubuntu guys before, about deploying Mythtv on Ubuntu. Please USE Mythbuntu! A few people already waste their time developing Mythbuntu, to make Mythtv run on Ubuntu PERFECTLY and now you are wasting yours to make your own version of "Mythbuntu"

Now i try to make almost the same, but on Ubuntu 9.10 x86 and with AverMedia DVD EZMaker7. I downloaded drivers from official site, and install it. dmesg and lsmod commands shows that driver interfaces properly registered, and modules load (all the same as in your post), but after device unplugging modules dosen't unloads, and when device is connected, modules doesn't load automatically, device dosen't recognised properly, /dev/video0 doesn't appear.(there is no line like "[xxxx.xx] A827 registered V4L2 device video0[video] in dmesg output").
What i'm doing wrong, and what can i try to fix it?
